Penny Hastings and Todd Caven have established themselves as experts in the field of collegiate athletic scholarships. Penny helped her son Todd coordinate a sports scholarship campaign which resulted in scholarship offers from several major universities. They also carried out elaborate research, including their College Recruiting Survey of over 500 college coaches, in addition to discussions with hundreds of high school coaches and counselors, college financial aid and admissions officers, and student-athletes and their parents. Their personal experience and this extensive research convinced them there was a strong need for this book.

Penny Hastings is a publisher, professional writer and consultant who lives in Northern California. She is a former nationally syndicated newspaper columnist on women’s sports issues and is an advisory board member of the Women’s Sports Foundation.
